Hunterton Bred, Raised & Sold
Lexington, KY — On Monday (Aug. 26), Red Mile hosted one $80,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes, two $30,000 third round legs of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series and three $15,000 divisions of the Kentucky Goldenrod Series for freshman filly trotters.
Allegiant returned to her winning ways in the Kentucky Sire Stakes division in 1:53.4. Allegiant (Scott Zeron) went straight to the front from post position five. The filly clicked off fractions of :29, :57.1 and 1:25.3 while Volcanic Blue Chip (Ake Svanstedt) allowed her to cut the mile in second position.
Volcanic Blue Chip came rolling in the lane with her best shot, however, Allegiant was still adamant she would not taste defeat. Special Talent (Dexter Dunn) was third.
Trained by Vernon Beachy, Allegiant is a daughter of Tactical Landing-Too Good For You. She was a $50,000 purchase at the 2022 Standardbred Horse Sale by Ryan Smith and was bred by Atlantic Trot Inc. and Steve Stewart.
Allegiant sports a resume of 7-4-1-0 and has amassed $143,400 in purse money. She paid $6.28 to win as the favorite.
