Disaronno Hill wins Buckeye Stallion Series
Eldorado Scioto Downs hosted four $17,500 divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old filly pacers on Thursday (July 15).
Disaronno Hill (Racing Hill) took the long way around from post nine to win the second division in 1:53.4.
Cousin Margie (Jason Merriman) took the lead at the :27.3 quarter with Western Rosie (Tyler Smith) sitting second along the rail. Gillas Last Call (Josh Sutton) made a first over bid but couldn’t quite clear at the :57.3 half. Disaronno Hill (Brett Miller) sat second over and tipped three-wide at the 1:24.4 three-quarters. Posting a :28.4 last quarter, Disaronno Hill won by a half-length over Western Rosie with Gillas Last Call finishing third.
Going off as the 6-5 favorite, the filly out of the Well Said mare Beautiful Hill, paid $4.40 to win. Carl Howard, Kiara Morgan, Tre Morgan and trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. own the filly bred by Tom Hill, who now has $63,510 in lifetime earnings.
