Batavia, NY — Hunterton Raised & Sold Jula Florence ( Chapter Seven -Jula Shes Magic) sat a perfect pocket trip before striking late to score a narrow victory in the $110,200 New York Sire Stake for 2-year-old trotting fillies at Batavia Downs on Wednesday (Aug. 26) night. Seveallisto (Leon Bailey) and Jula Florence (Tyler Miller) both left from mid-pack and lined up one-two in front of a full field of fillies who trotted to the quarter in :28.2. Seveallisto continued to dictate the fractions at the half when Anabella (Brett Beckwith) came calling first-over on the outside and drew alongside Jula Florence, and both just a length behind the leader. Seveallisto led the girls through turn four where Anabella tailed off, affording Jula Florence room to tip off-cover at the top of the stretch. From there, Jula Florence trotted hard to make up over 1-½ lengths, catch Seveallisto and forge ahead late by a neck to win in 1:58.2. It was the third win of the year, all in NYSS action, for Jula Florence ($4.48), who is owned by Andy Miller Stable, Windsong Stable and Dumain Haven Farm and trained by Julie Miller. Jula Racing was the winning breeder. There were also two $20,000 NYSS Excelsior Series races on the card. The first was won by Solar Queen (Met’s Hall-Supreme Seven, 2:00.3, $4.74 – Matt Kakaley/Rob Harmon) who is owned by Go For Glory Stable and Matthew Lamont and bred by WInbak Farm. The second went to Native Pride ( Chapter Seven -Oh My Goodness, 1:59.3, $2.44 – Jeff Gregory/George Ducharme) who is owned by FTM Racing Stable and bred by Blue Chip Bloodstock. Live racing will resume at Batavia Downs on Thursday (Aug 27) at 5 p.m. and there will be a guaranteed pool $7,500 in the Pick-5 wager in the first race, in conjunction with the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program.

DELMONICA HANOVER II (Pocono Downs)– The Tactical Landing filly Hunterton Raised & Sold Isabella Bi sat in third, backed out behind clearing first-up favorite Nuance nearing the far turn, then was able to gradually wear down the chalk by a head, with the 1:51.4 final time, just two-fifths off the divisional track record set by Yo Tillie in the Delmonica Hanover Final last year. Newly-elected Hall of Famer Ake Svanstedt drove Isabella Bi, a 9-1 proposition who took off her shoes for the contest, trains her, and co-owns her with Joe Sbrocco & JAF Racing, Little E LLC, and Mr Lars Olsson.

Wilkes-Barre, PA – The Walner colt Hunterton Raised & Sold Inexpressable seems to be peaking at an opportune time of the 2026 harness racing season, adding to his resume by winning the Grade 2 $300,000 Earl Beal Memorial Trot for 3-year-old males on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 22) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. He lowered his mark to 1:51.1 in the game neck victory over favorite Diabolic Hill. Diabolic Hill was sent away wide at the start and kept on going to reach the lead by a :26.4 quarter. Inexpressable came out from third and made a sharp move to the lead, then got a much-needed breather to a :56 half. The next challenge came from Minoan, who gradually came up into contention, with Magic Punk on his back and Diabolic Hill waiting in the pocket as the field sent by the three quarters in 1:23.2 and raced along to the stretch. The outside horses had a little bit too much difficulty making up ground quickly enough, but Diabolic Hill, perched in the pocket behind the pacesetter, went to the Pocono Pike to try to catch the leader up the rail. But Inexpressable dipped down deep into the solid foundation that Lucas Wallin had established, and he was able to ward off the potential pocket rocket by a neck, with Magic Punk rushing up late but settling for third. Inexpressable, the winner of the Yonkers Trot, was sent off at 4-1 on a Pocono card where favorites did not have the easiest of times. Inexpressable was a $325,000 yearling purchase, and with this win he raised his lifetime earnings to $408,270 for Wallin Racing Stable Inc. and Karin Walter-Mommert.

Anderson, IN – It was a barrage of Indiana Sire Stakes action on Friday (Aug. 21) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, with rookie trotting fillies and pacing colts in action, to go along with the 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers. A few horsemen dominated the proceedings, with the Erv and Alvin Miller barns combining to take half of the 14 races, while driver John De Long tallied five wins on the evening. Two-year-old trotting fillies kicked off the stakes festivities, with Hunterton Born and Sold Redice flexing her muscle as the 1-9 favorite with Atlee Bender aboard for Erv Miller in the $66,500 first split. Leaving from post six, Redice trotted to top on the first turn, leading the field of eight to the quarter in :28. In The Buff (Kyle Wilfong) moved around her to the point, taking the field to the half in :58 before Redice was back out for more from the pocket at three-quarters in 1:27.3. From there, Redice asserted herself in the lane, sprinting home in :27.2 to cruise by four lengths in 1:55.

Anderson, IN – Hunterton Raised & Sold Inverness Ave secured big win as they took down their respective $49,500 division in the sixth leg of the Indiana Sire Stakes for 3-year-old male trotters at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Thursday (Aug. 20). Sent off at odds of 22-1, Inverness Ave, driven by Kevin Lambright for trainer Ernie Gaskin, won the first division while upending the previously unbeaten Dan D Man Can.  Starting from post 3, Inverness Ave found easy access to the rail in fourth while Swan Affect (driven by Marcus Miller), who left from post 1, led to the opening quarter in :28. Single file on the backstretch, favorite Dan D Man Can (Atlee Bender) soon asserted his will, gliding to the front of the seven-horse field to the halfway pole in :57.3. On the turn, Inverness Ave advanced from fourth as he cruised alongside Dan D Man Can, who led at the three-quarters in 1:25.2. Down the stretch, Dan D Man Can continued to fend off challenges, but Inverness Ave wrote a different ending as he wore down the leader to snap Dan D Man Can’s seasonal win streak at seven. Inverness Ave crossed the wire in 1:52.3, clear by three-quarters of a length. Dan D Man Can fell to second while Swan Affect held for third. The Helpisontheway gelding is owned by Theodore Engel, Douglas Shore, and Ernest Gaskin Stables Inc. Inverness Ave was bred by The Bay’s Stable LLC, Polger Holdings LLC, and Little E LLC. Boosting his lifetime earnings to $167,585, Inverness Ave paid $46.60 to win.

Lexington, KY – Regally bred Hunterton Raised & Sold Command Center rebounded from a lapped-on break disqualification in his debut for a 1:54.1 victory in the $80,000 second preliminary of the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Wednesday (Aug. 12) at The Red Mile. Leaving from post 2, driver Dexter Dunn eased Command Center to the middle of the pack while Captain Kenny J (driven by Todd McCarthy) surged forward through a :29 first quarter to seize the lead from 169-1 shot Celebrini (Joe Bongiorno). Nights In Miami (Marvin Luna) soon angled off the cones from third to brush for the lead but greenly hesitated to clear approaching a :57.4 half and then broke stride, forcing incoming pursuer Top Reacher (Mattias Melander) three wide with Dunn following his stablemate’s charge. Command Center looped by Top Reacher to take the lead to three-quarters in 1:25.4 and maintained his advantage through the stretch as Captain Kenny J popped from a stalking trip to take second with Top Reacher trotting evenly for third and Whateverittakes As (Tony Hall) rallying from near last for fourth. Marcus Melander trains Command Center, a colt by Gimpanzee out of world champion mare Mission Brief, for owners S R F Stable, Holly Lane Stud East Ltd. and Steve Stewart. Wednesday’s card also featured a pair of $30,000 divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series for 2-year-old trotting males. Marino (Tim Tetrick, 1:54.2 winning mile; $35.58 to win), a Walner -Bene Bene gelding, braved a first-over trip to pull a narrow upset over 8-5 favorite Kountry Win (Yannick Gingras) to take top honors of the two dashes. Point Blank (David Miller, 1:56.3; $6.62) scored from a stalking trip to win the other division by three-quarter lengths. Trainer Marcus Melander won five races on the day. Lexington, KY — Hunterton Born, Raised & Sold Requiem shipped to The Red Mile from defeat on the Grand Circuit to find the winner’s circle in their respective $80,000 opening-preliminary division of the Kentucky Championship Series on Monday afternoon (Aug. 10). Requiem (Andy McCarthy) went pillar-to-post in a 1:51.1 redemptive score – from his loss in the Hambletonian eliminations – in the Kentucky Championship Series split for trotting glamour boys, giving McCarthy a sweep of the top-tier races and leading a one-two finish for trainer Matthew Burkholder. McCarthy motored Requiem out of post 8 to the lead in a :27.1 first quarter and cruised swiftly to a :54.3 half. Pocket-sitter Kaizen (Markus Niklasson) peaked off the pylons through the last turn as Requiem remained strong on the point to three-quarters in 1:22.4 before breaking stride into the stretch, leaving McCarthy to stroll over the beam a length winner chased by 7-5 favorite Silverstein (David Miller), who sat third throughout and took second. Fineline Hanover (Todd McCarthy) gave pursuit from third and Lucchese (Tim Tetrick), the longest shot on the board, kicked from last for fourth. Requiem, a colt by Muscle Hill -Ostrich Blue Chip, races for owner Dark Horse Farm LLC. East Rutherford, NJ — The Chris Ryder-trained tandem of Twin B Joe Fresh and Hunterton Born Miki And Minnie renewed their rivalry in the stretch of the $156,500 Grade 2 Lady Liberty, for pacing mares, on Saturday (Aug. 8) at the Meadowlands with Miki And Minnie scoring the winning blow in a 1:48 mile. Twin B Joe Fresh, a two-time Dan Patch Award winner, shot out of post 7 to control the pace, followed to the :27.4 first quarter by Unreasonable, Miki And Minnie – last year’s Dan Patch Award-winning 3-year-old pacing filly – and the other five parading to a :54.2 half. The only movement in the backstretch came when driver James MacDonald initiated his attack off the pylons with Miki And Minnie, aiming at her stablemate as she scorched towards three-quarters in 1:21.3. Miki And Minnie chased Twin B Joe Fresh with purpose in a gutsy stretch battle. “I’ve never seen Miki And Minnie give up,” Ryder said about Miki And Minnie after the race. “I never count her out. She was down about 2-1/2 lengths not far into the stretch [from Twin B Joe Fresh], but it did not surprise me she made it.” In the :26.2 final quarter, Miki And Minnie tucked to draft behind her stablemate before laying a final siege in the closing eighth of a mile. She smoothly surged by and put away Twin B Joe Fresh for a half-length win with Louies Girl N finishing third and Rodeo Drive Deo fourth. “I’m just pleased to see them go the races they’re supposed to go,” Ryder said about his mares finishing first and second. “From week to week, you can get a little nervous when they’re going to the gate just to make sure they perform, but I’m delighted with both of them.” Ryder also said the pair will be heading north for the Milton Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park in a few weeks. Miki And Minnie, a double-millionaire homebred 4-year-old by Always B Miki out of the Roll With Joe mare That’s The Ticket, competes for owners Craig Henderson, Robert Mondillo and Lawrence Minowitz. Miki And Minnie boosted her bankroll to $2,329,227 in her 25th win from 34 starts while collecting her sixth win from eight starts this season. East Rutherford, NJ — A slick move through slow early fractions by driver Yannick Gingras to loop Hunterton Born & Raised Nezuko Kamado S to the lead placed her at a strong tactical advantage to grit a last-ditch blitz by pocket-pouncing Carve and win the $500,000 Winning Key Farm Hambletonian Oaks in 1:51.4 on Saturday (Aug. 8) at the Meadowlands.  Nezuko Kamado S, the 4-5 favorite with Yannick Gingras substituting for injured driver Scott Zeron, eased out of post 2 into fourth as Carve motored from the center of the gate by pylon-starter Busy Miss Lissy S to take the lead. But after the first quarter clicked in just :28.2, Gingras floated Nezuko Kamado S off the pylons and lifted for the lead in the backstretch. She cleared Carve before a :56.2 half, at which point Setyoursightshigh got underway with an uncovered bid up the rim. Setyoursightshigh advanced to match strides with stablemate Nezuko Kamado S coming to three-quarters in 1:25.1, bottling Carve in the pocket and towing Frattina Diablo S into contention from second-over. Nezuko Kamado S turned for home and waited until around the eighth pole to sprint, springing away from Setyoursightshigh while giving Carve clearance to angle out for a final attack. Carve swung out and clawed desperately for the lead late but came a neck short at the beam with Setyoursightshigh left in third and Frattina Diablo S taking fourth. “I really didn’t want to be on the lead,” Gingras said after the race. “I thought there would be a lot of speed from the outside, and I was surprised when the gate opened up [that] we weren’t going much. I knew at that point, the middle of the first turn, that I was going to move to the lead, and it was a winning move. I knew in the last turn I had the horse to beat on my back. It was a matter of not going too fast, and halfway down the stretch I let mine loose a little bit and almost got loose a little too early because Andy’s filly really quickened and gave me a run down the lane.” A filly by Chapter Seven out of the Muscle Hill mare Zefira Kronos IT, Nezuko Kamado S won her fifth race from six starts this season and her 11th race from 17 starts in her career, entering millionaire status with $1,052,969 in the bank for owner-breeder Courant Inc. “It’s fantastic [to win],” said Anders Ström, of Courant Inc. “It’s a homebred, great horse, great work by the trainer Marcus Melander and all his team, but it felt especially good to see Scott Zeron in the winner’s circle with us today.” Ström, who also thanked Gingras for catching the drive after Nezuko Kamado S’s regular pilot, Scott Zeron, was injured in a spill on Thursday night (Aug. 6) at Yonkers Raceway, said he left the decision for the driver change to trainer Marcus Melander. “Scott took care of this filly all year. I feel very bad that he couldn’t drive today,” Melander said. “I’m very thankful Yannick could step in and do such good work, but I do want to say a big thank you to Scott as well. Without him, we wouldn’t be here. We had three good horses coming into the race here, so of course you have your hopes up. I’ve been the favorite in these races before, finishing second, third or whatever. It’s a hard race to win and I’m happy we got it done.” “I couldn’t say yes fast enough; unfortunately that’s not how you want to get a drive, but no doubt it was an easy decision,” Gingras said. “All the credit goes to Scotty [Zeron]. It’s two years that he’s been working on this filly for a day like today. It’s bittersweet – I’m happy to pick up the drive and win the race – but the win is his. These horses are built up for races like this; they’re ready for big performances.
