East Rutherford, NJ — Hunterton Sold Yo Tillie maintained her current standing as the top horse in her division as a Hambletonian contender Saturday night at The Meadowlands when four divisions of the Tompkins-Geers Stake were contested for 3-year-old trotters of each sex. Yo Tillie remained unbeaten in four tries this season after displaying an awesome closing kick rather than the dazzling early speed she showed in each of her first three starts this year. “Her last couple of starts she’s been awesome,” said winning driver Todd McCarthy. “I’ve been racing her pretty aggressively and that was kind of the plan for tonight, but she’s come back so smart this year and she’s learned how to settle in. It’s an advantage when you can race them like that.” The daughter of Tactical Landing -Consolidator raced in fourth past the five-eighths in the $37,125 first dash for fillies, then moved to the outside on the far turn before unleashing a powerhouse final quarter of :26.3 to win by 3½ lengths over R Charm in 1:52.3. Jersey Slide was third. “I knew when I tipped and asked her that she would give me a pretty good last quarter,” said McCarthy. Not eligible for the Hambletonian Oaks, Yo Tillie, who returned $2.10 to win as the 1-9 favorite, is being pointed toward the Kentucky Filly Futurity and Breeders Crown, among other stakes events this year, according to trainer Andrew Harris.

Hunterton Born and Sold No Better Air was one of four Cattlewash freshman pacing filly winners in Ontario Sires Stakes action on Friday night, July 18 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Oak Grove, KY — The near $1-million day of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) finals at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on Monday (July 14) saw five track-record performances, the fastest of which came in a powerhouse romp by Erv Miller trainee Unreasonable to win the $100,000 final for 3-year-old pacing fillies in 1:49.4. Hunterton Bron and Sold Yannick G Kemp (Todd McCarthy) won the first KYSS final of the day, the $100,000 KYSS 3-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Trot, in a track-record time with a surprise front-stepping performance at odds of 17-1. Having to return to the paddock before the race for a shoe repair, Yannick G Kemp came back to the track, went behind the gate and uncorked great speed to land on the point out of post six through a :27.3 first quarter. With his competition just trying to find a rhythm in behind, Yannick G Kemp coasted by a :56.2 half and through three-quarters in 1:24.1 with a strong lead coming for home. My Degenerate (Dexter Dunn), the 4-5 favorite, tried to rush first up late before losing stride, which left Yannick G Kemp alone to coast in a two-length winner in 1:52.3. Te Quiero Lindy (Andy McCarthy) sat a pocket trip for second with Big Shoes (Yannick Gingras) closing for third and Grande Via (David Miller) in fourth. Richard “Nifty” Norman trains Yannick G Kemp, a 3-year-old colt by Walner , for owners Melvin Hartman, ROjan Stables and Little E LLC. In winning his seventh race from 22 starts, Yannick G Kemp padded his bankroll to $214,889 while also lowering the track record for 3-year-old trotting colts of 1:53 set by Brodeur in 2023. He paid $36.04 to win.

Oak Grove, KY — The near $1-million day of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) finals at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on Monday (July 14) saw five track-record performances. Hunterton Bred, Born and Sold Endurance (Andy McCarthy) beat his own track record that he set one week ago in winning the $100,000 KYSS 2-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Trot at the end of the card. McCarthy plowed past San Patricio (Scott Zeron) through a :27 first quarter to lead the field through a :56.1 half and to three-quarters in 1:24.4. San Patricio trotted level for home, but Silverstein (David Miller) emerged out of third to take a shot at Endurance. McCarthy gave his charge a few taps of the whip and Endurance held by three-quarter lengths at the end of a 1:53.2 mile over Silverstein. San Patricio chased in third and Zephyr Kemp (Dexter Dunn) settled for fourth. Chris Beaver trains Endurance, a colt by Captain Corey , for himself and co-owners Bill Manes, Leo Fleming and Mark Moger. He collected his second win from three starts — his first win in 1:54.3 beat the previous track record for 2-year-old colts by a fifth of a second — and has now earned $73,200. He paid $3.36 to win.

Oak Grove, KY — The near $1-million day of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) finals at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on Monday (July 14) saw five track-record performances, the fastest of which came in a powerhouse romp by Erv Miller trainee Unreasonable to win the $100,000 final for 3-year-old pacing fillies in 1:49.4. Driver Marcus Miller motored Hunterton Bred, Born and Sold Unreasonable to the top through a :26 first quarter and pocketed Reckless Abandon (driven by Todd McCarthy) moving past the grandstand for the first time. Odds-on chalk Odds On Chesapeake (Dexter Dunn) abandoned her leave attempt and landed fourth out of post seven, but tried to claw first over after a :55 half. Miller accelerated with Unreasonable up the backstretch and started to peel away from the competition through three-quarters in 1:22.1. Odds On Chesapeake retreated as the others fought to hold position in behind widening winner Unreasonable. She crossed the line under wraps and 4-1/2 lengths better than Reckless Abandon in second. Accede (Yannick Gingras) grabbed third while Caviart Delight (Scott Zeron) closed widest of all for fourth. Unreasonable, who matched the track record for 3-year-old pacing fillies of 1:49.4 set by Charleston in 2023, won her third race from four starts this season and her sixth race from 15 starts in her career. Erv Miller trains the daughter of Huntsville for owners Ervin Miller Stable Inc. and David J. Miller. She has earned $260,582 and paid $6.52 to win.

Wilkes-Barre, PA — There were three $30,000 divisions of a Pennsylvania All-Stars event for two-year-old pacing fillies on the Sunday twilight card at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, and all three of the winners scored in identical times of 1:53.4. Two of the fillies were sired by the hot Papi Rob Hanover , and one of them recorded her second straight win in 1:53.4, so we’ll lead with her. That would be Hunterton Born and Sold Call Me Angelita (Tim Tetrick), who was second in her purse debut while covering her own back half in :54.3, then won easily last week. Here driver Tetrick could sit third until the three-quarters, from where she made a wicked brush home to just get by the pacesetting Kissedbyastranger (Yannick Gingras) by a neck, coming her own back fractions in :55 – :26.3. Scott Di Domenico conditions the fleet filly for Triple D And Oompa Farm, Michael Rekoon, Craig Henderson, and Steve Stewart. 

East Rutherford, NJ — Driver Dexter Dunn carved a path to the lead out of the second tier and uncorked a monumental 1:48.4 performance in the $172,650 Jerry Silverman Memorial on Saturday night (July 12) at The Meadowlands. Outside starters Wickedpace (Jody Jamieson) and Thebeautifulthings (Kyle Husted) swooped down to the top into a :26.4 first quarter as Rodeo Drive Deo hustled outside on the rim towards the front with Miki And Minnie in tow. Rodeo Drive Deo (David Miller) brushed to the lead but Miki And Minnie emerged on top through the shuffle and carried the field to the half in :55. Miki And Minnie cruised around the final turn while Rodeo Drive Deo angled out of the pocket to take a shot at the leader, but she began to waver spinning off three-quarters in 1:23. The whole field then straggled in the straightaway as Miki And Minnie motored through a :25.4 final quarter to win under wraps by five lengths in 1:48.4. Wickedpace, at long odds, held second with Thebeautifulthings, at even longer odds, taking third. Looksgoodinloulou stormed down the center of the track for fourth. “She’s unbelievable,” co-owner Criag Henderson said. “She never quits, she always goes. And there’s a reason Chris Ryder is in the Hall of Fame; this is another example of it. Chris said she’d been training great all week, and when you have Dexter Dunn behind the horse, it’s a good thing.” Ryder trains Miki And Minnie, a homebred filly by Always B Miki out of the Roll With Joe mare That’s The Ticket, for owners Craig Henderson, Robert Mondillo and Larry Minowitz. She won her fourth race from five starts this season and her 10th race from 16 starts overall, accruing $1,101,337 in earnings. She paid $3.40 to win. 

East Rutherford, NJ – Top betting choice Yo Tillie took top billing in their respective $141,600 Del Miller Memorial division, for 3-year-old trotting fillies, at The Meadowlands on Saturday night (July 12). Hunterton Sold Yo Tillie landed on top of a half-mile shuffle and muscled to another dominant victory in trotting a 1:51 mile to win her $141,600 division of the Del Miller Memorial. Driver Todd McCarthy accelerated off the wings with Yo Tillie but floated five wide into the first turn. Champagne Problems pushed hardest for the early lead, but relinquished control past a :27 first quarter to Best Friends Girl and Deja Blu then loomed forward on the rim with Yo Tillie on her back. Deja Blu took over the lead before Yo Tillie finally thrusted to the top past a :55.1 half. Though Yo Tillie travelled wide for the entirety of the first half, she began peeling away from the competition on the march to three-quarters in 1:23.3 and spun for home on an open-length lead. Lady Landia encroached with a late burst of speed from the back of the pack to grab second, beaten 3-1/2 lengths, while Walspea also emerged from the backfield with an outside grind for third. R Charm closed for fourth. “I figured there would be a bit of action in that first quarter,” winning driver Todd McCarthy said. “There was a little more than I was hoping, but I think everyone had the same game plan; they wanted to follow her. It just kind of worked out that we ended up finding the front past the half there.” A daughter of Tactical Landing out of the Triumphant Caviar mare Consolidator, Yo Tillie stayed unbeaten from three tries this season while collecting her 11th victory from 15 starts, good for $408,539 in earnings. Andrew Harris trains and shares ownership of Yo Tillie with Bill Pollock and Bruce Areman, all of whom acquired this filly from Verlin Yoder after her 2-year-old season. Ineligible to the Hambletonian Oaks, Harris said Yo Tillie’s next targets are the Kentucky Champion Series at The Red Mile followed by the Delmonica Hanover at Pocono Downs and other stakes to which she could supplement late in the year. Sent off the 1-9 favorite, Yo Tillie paid $2.20 to win.
